2016
Nine photo-watercolour works.

Digital photographic prints which are then ‘drowned’ in watercolour, this is then left to dry over a number of days. The watercolour pigment leaves a very fine and detailed trace as it dries, seeming to describe a landscape, geological structure or growth.
The Drowned World is a reference to the science fiction writer JG Ballard’s book of the same name. The images in this series are varried, including architectural and landscape projects in Dubai, 1970’s space-rock group Hawkwind, the Biosphere 2 project in the Arizona desert, and the Emerald City from The Wizard of Oz.
